INTUITION & EMPOWERMENT

I am passionate about empowering you to reclaim your voice and name your desires. There are many ways that we survive the circumstances of our lives by becoming small and silencing ourselves.  This leads to people pleasing, fear of setting boundaries, lack of self-esteem or self-confidence, anxiety, and depression. I work with you to begin to tune into your body and listen to your own inner wisdom.

I believe deeply that our minds and bodies are extremely intuitive and at our core, we know how to heal.  We can learn to trust ourselves.

STORY

Story work is an opportunity to take a closer look at your experiences throughout your life and to identify the impact.  It is powerful to bring someone else into places where you have been alone.  In a supportive and safe space, we can work together to identify the themes and patterns of your life taking you deeper into self-understanding and self-compassion.

I believe that our story shapes us but we determine where we go from here.

REBUILDING

Often in therapy, you become aware of the old patterns, coping mechanisms, and beliefs that have kept you stuck.  Movement away from these patterns and beliefs can be painful and is a slow process.  It may feel very vulnerable, like someone pulling the rug out from under you.  Rebuilding new ways of being based around your values is an important part of the process to provide a sense of grounding.

I believe that change is possible.

“I want to know if you know how to melt into that fierce heat of living, falling toward the center of your longing.”

-David Whyte

Therapeutic Frameworks & Modalities that I use:

  • Answers the question of why we do what we do. Looking at past events and relationships helps us to bring awareness around our unconscious behavior patterns in order to understand ourselves and make healthy changes.

  • Based in the belief that the earliest bonds formed between child and caregiver has a tremendous impact that continues throughout life. The quality of early attachments play a critical role in healthy development, self-esteem, and later relationships.

  • A model of therapy used to address trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms through identifying the network of parts within you. This is often called “parts work”. We exile parts of ourselves that hold pain or trauma while other parts of us work hard to keep those painful feelings away. This method is compassionate to all emotions, feelings, images, and sensations that these parts hold, bringing a clearer understanding to how your inner world functions and a greater sense of self.

  • Focuses on the stories that you develop and carry with you through your life which influence how you see yourself and the world. This is a collaborative approach with the goal of helping clients move away from the idea that their problems are an unchangeable part of themselves and empowers them towards change.
